"Bad Territory" is the eighth episode of Season 3 of the animated television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. It aired on March 20, 2024.

Use of Aurebesh

Space station advertisements

When Hunter and Wrecker arrive at Suria space station, there is a wide shot of a shady street. At the end of the road, there is an ad for JJ Diner, and a Ride the Perlemian poster; however, they are too far away to decipher. On the right side of the pavement, there is an ad for T&J Repair, although only the first four characters are decipherable.

Note: The ampersand (&) does not appear in any Star Wars guides to Aurebesh, but does appear in the fan-made font Aurabesh, which was developed by Mike E. Webb in 1996 and can be downloaded online.[1]

Cantina monitors

When Hunter and Wrecker enter Tanda's Cantina, there is a wide shot of the cantina, showing a wall with Aurebesh text. The white on blue text on the left (too far away to read in this shot, but seen more clearly in the shot where an Aqualish costumer crashes into a booth after being kicked by a Pantoran) is written in a very strange, chaotic way: It appears to read "LAND SPEE[image ends]", with an additional word, "SALE", written in mirror-inverted characters on top of the word "land." There is also a mirrored advertisement for "THERMAL DETONATOR", and another mirrored ad which says "CORELLIAN" and "CORP".

The red and purplish-pink wall behind the booth where Fennec Shand is sitting says "VIP LOUNGE" and "SALE!" (the latter is written two times, the instance in mirrored characters). In the shot before Shand says, "I remember you two," and in the shot where she says, "Get out," mirrored text on the same screen says "[obscured]0% OFF" (note that "0%" only appears in the second shot, while the word "off" is hard to read in the second). When Wrecker sits down after the Rodian client walks off, "DROID REPA[obscured]" and "DROID" (the latter is mirrored) appears on the same wall.

Note that the percent sign (%) does not appear in any Star Wars mappings of Aurebesh either, but appears in the fan-made Aurabesh font; much like the aforementioned ampersand symbol.[1]

In the shot where an Aqualish crashes into a booth after being kicked by the Pantoran, is a handful of Aurebesh letters at the top of the screen, but we only see the bottom of the characters, so they are indecipherable.

In the shot where Shand tells the Rodian client to "get out," Aurebesh text is glimpsed on the green monitor behind her. It says "TA[illegible] D[illegible]." A piece of concept art on StarWars.com reveals that it is an advertisement for Refined Coaxium Ambrostine and says "TASTE THE DIFFERENCE" (the ad in concept art also shows a bottle of the beverage, reading "COAX[obscured]".[2]

When Hunter says to Shand, "Deal," the word "[image begins]NATOR" appears on the monitor behind him.

Cantina slot machine

In the shot where Hunter and Wrecker go over to the bar counter, a slot machine called "CREDIT PUSHER" is sitting next to the bar.

Cantina beverage

In the shot where the pit droid bartender takes a bottle of Whyren's Reserve from the Pantoran troublemaker and uses it to knock them unconscious, the label on the bottle says "A". Another bottle of Whyren's Reserve is sitting on the counter.

AZI-3

The left side of AZI-3's head is labeled "1L", while the right side carries the same inscription, but mirror-inverted.

Shand's sniper rifle

Yhe targeting display on Fennec Shand's MK sniper rifle contains Aurebesh text with no actual meaning.

Unseen Aurebesh

Concept art for the episode on StarWars.com shows an additional street advertisement, for "BLUE MILK". There is also a purple saying "9" and "NEB[illegible]".
