"Part IV" is the fourth episode of the Star Wars live action series Obi-Wan Kenobi. It aired on June 8, 2022.

Use of Aurebesh

Tala's identification

When the security guard scans Tala's code cylinder, the readout results in "CAPTAIN TALA DURITH", "UNKNOWN". The text in the upper left hand corner reads "FSS". The text at the bottom reads "SECURITY C[image ends]".

Note that, as confirmed on StarWars.com, Tala's surname is never spoken in the series; it can only be seen on the security monitor.[1]

Fortress blueprints

When Tala is checking the blueprints of Fortress Inquisitorius, in the first scene, the words "RESTRICTED", "ENTER AUTH CODE" appear in the lower right hand corner on the monitor on the left, for a split second (note that although you can see the words at normal speed, you can only read them if you pause the picture at the right moment). In the upper left hand corner of the same monitor, "CORE" and "[obscured]ED ACCESS", "[blurred charactersED" appear.

On the screen on the right, lots of numbers, written in an alternate font that is completely different from regular Aurebesh numbers (using an alternate numerical system based on dots and lines), can be seen. Most of them can be seen in a column at the edge of the right side of the screen, in the second scene; the one where Tala is discovered. Three Rs can also be seen, one of which is upside-down and mirror-inverted.

In the second scene, additional text can be seen on the monitor on the left, including [illegible word] CORE[illegible characters]" and "[illegible word] CORE". The rest is indecipherable.

Unseen Aurebesh

A promotional image for the episode, used as an infobox picture for this article, reveals additional Aurebesh that is not seen in the actual episode: The monitors used for ID scanning shows an alternate readout, with the left screen reading "FORTRESS INQUISITORIUS" : "CLEARED"; "FSS", "TECH" : "FORTRESS INQUISITORIUS"; [obscured]CCESS" (presumably "ACCESS"), "SECURITY CLEARANCE" : "APPROVED"; "L", "R" and "SCAN". The monitor to the right says "CT", "BACKGROUND CHECK", "R", "SCAN", "SCNNING [sic] ACTIVE", "L" and "R". Under "background check", there is an extremely long list of numbers written in an alternate font that is completely different from regular Aurebesh numbers, using an alternate numerical system based on dots and lines. These numbers are too many to list.
