Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi is a 2017 film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It is the second part of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the eighth part of the Skywalker saga.
Use of Aurebesh
First Order computer screen
In the beginning of the movie, as Poe Dameron's X-wing, Black One, approaches the Finalizer, the computer screen that General Hux examines says "RANGE" and "MED", "LOK", "TRIT" and "BSE" (on both sides), and "MEX" and "SSF".
First Order armbands
Aurebesh can be seen on the commemorative armbands worn by the First Order military:
The armband worn by Lank Paze, the First Order monitor who handles Poe's "message" to the First Order fleet, says "HAL 4". Note that the number 4 is written in an alternate font that is completely different from regular Aurebesh numbers, using an alternate numerical system based on dots and lines.
Armitage Hux's monitor wears an armband that says "RO 8". Note that the number 8 is also written in the alternate font.
The armband worn by Rumitar Shay, the First Order monitor watching the screen when Rose, Finn and DJ fly into the Supremacy, says "HA[obscured]" (as in "Hal 4").
The name on the armband on the uniform that is in the middle of being ironed in the automated launderette, begins with the letter "K" for Kaplan.
The armband on DJ's stolen uniform says "POWER".
Rose Tico's stolen uniform says "TARKIN".
Finn's stolen uniform says "DILLON", as seen when he empties the trash can aboard the Supremacy.
The name Dillon is most likely a reference to Glyn Dillon, who worked as a costume designer on The Force Awakens. The names Ro and Hal seem to be a reference to Dillon's sons, who are named Ro and Hal.[1] All the armbands first appeared together in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary.
Poe's message
When Poe is communicating with General Hux, a computer monitor aboard the Finalizer shows an Aurebesh transcription of Poe's words:

Additional text, "RANGE", "POEDAM" "UKL", "RDHJ", "ULO" and "INCOM" can also be glimpsed on the screen.
Note that Poe's actual words are slightly different: In the film, he says "Commander Poe Dameron of the Republic Fleet" instead of "Poe Dameron, pilot of the Republic Fleet", and "General Hugs" instead of "Admiral Hux". Another blooper appears when the screen displays the entire message just as Poe begins to speak the word "Fleet" (in "Republic Fleet") but still shows every word from "Fleet" to "I'm" before Poe speaks them.
Resistance life wests
Just like in The Force Awakens, the life vest of Poe Dameron, and other Resistance X-wing pilots, read "PULL TO INFLATE". Once again, the text is upside-down, to make it easier for the pilot to read.
Resistance flight helmets
Like in The Force Awakens, Poe's flight helmet has "ROÆHAL" stenciled onto it. This is best seen as he turns his head right before his weapon systems fail during the evacuation of D'Qar. The inscription is a reference to "Ro & Hal", the sons of Glyn Dillon, who worked as a costume designer on The Force Awakens.[1]
Tallissan Lintra's flight helmet says "DA." According to Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, this is short for "Deadly Approach", the punch-line to a well-known pilots' joke.
Ben Teene's helmet says "BEN".
Jaycris Tubbs' flight helmet says "PHI TED STELLA". The inscription is barely glimpsed on-screen, but can be seen more clearly in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, which reveals that that this is the names of Tubbs' children.
Finch Dallow's helmet says "STELLA".
Cova Nell's flight helmet, seen when Poe is in the transport ship cockpit with her as the Resistance evacuates the Raddus in the third act of the film, says "HELLO NASTY", a reference to the Beastie Boys album of the same name. The inscription only briefly appears on-screen, but can be seen more clearly in The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary.
Proton bombs
During an interior shot of a Resistance bomber that is destroyed in battle, there is a proton bomb on the right hand side of the screen which says "HI SNOKE".
As the bombs start falling out of Paige's ship, the proton bomb in the lower right hand corner says "HAN SAYS HI".
Patients recuperating
As Finn is recuperating, the transparent lid he is under says "STATUS" : "PATIENT STABLE" (the rest of the text is gibberish).
When Leia is lying in bed, the lid/screen she's under shows Aurebesh characters with no particular meaning.
Poe's X-wing
When Poe lands in the Raddus hangar, the hull of his X-wing says "RESCUE" : "OTHER SIDE".
Rose's coveralls
Rose Tico's coveralls say "GLD" (short for Ground Logistics Division) and "LANDING OFFICER".
Hologram of the Supremacy
When Rose displays the hologram of the Supremacy, the words "DISTANCE" : "MILES" keep flashing on the screen in mirror-inverted Aurebesh. If you go frame by frame, the words "ZOOM IN" can be glimpsed, still in mirror-inverted characters.
Resistance data screens
A Resistance data screen which Poe looks at as he discusses plans with Rose and Finn shows lots of Aurebesh text, but it produces nothing but gibberish when translated.
A Resistance data screen at the end of the movie says "MSH".
Racing binoculars
The display on a pair of binoculars that Finn uses to view the fathiers race says "HOTH STUFF". If you watch in slow motion, you can see a set of different characters first (a set of consonants with no actual meaning), which then morph into "Hoth Stuff".
Canto Bight police helmets
The police officers' helmets identify them as the CBPD, short for Canto Bight Police Department.
DJ's motto
DJ's motto "DON'T JOIN" is etched into a plate adorning his hat.
Libertine hologram
The hologram which DJ activates aboard the Libertine, the stolen Star Yacht, contains a catalog of starfighters for sale (note that the numbers are written in the alternate font mentioned earlier in this article):
The first readout says "
20,000" (listed three times, although two are mirror-inverted because parts of the hologram is seen from behind). Additional text can only be deciphered if going frame by frame: "CATALOG" (seen from behind and therefore mirror-inverted), "[illegible]RGET TO" (presumably "FORGET TO"), "ASK FOR BULK DISCOUNTS.", "(", "STATUS", "[illegible]FURBISHED" (presumably "REFURBISHED"), "MEGA DEAL", "SIENAR-JAEMUS TIE/LN" (seen from behind and therefore mirror-inverted; note that the first three letters are virtually indecipherable), "FOR BULK DISCOUNTS.", "RE" and "SEN".
The second readout shows a TIE fighter. The hologram hovering above the rest of the readout at the top says "COCKPIT", "BEST PROTECTION". The hologram below the fighter includes the words "PRICE", "[obscured]NT FORGET TO" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted), "ASK FOR BULK DISCOUNTS" (same; presumably, it is supposed to be combined with the previous entry and form "DON'T FORGET TO ASK FOR BULK DISCOUNTS"), "AEOO" (same), "CATALOG" (same), "MEGA DEAL", " 20,000", "SIENAR-JAEMUS TIE/LN", "VEHICLE TYPE" and "REFURBISH" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted).
The third readout shows an All Terrain Scout Transport. The text next to the vehicle says "KDY/ROTHANA AT-ST", "PRECISION ENGINEERED" (this can be seen if you go frame by frame), before switching to "ROTHANA AT-ST", " 25,000". The text at the bottom includes "VEHICLE TYPE", "KDY/ROTHANA AT-ST", "S ER ST BL [illegible]", "MEGA DEAL", "AEOO", "CATALOG" and "PRICE" (it also contains some additional text that is gibberish or illegible).
The fourth readout shows a TIE Boarding Craft. The text hovering over the craft says "BEST DEAL", ") [sic] INCOM FRIETEK [sic] T-.", while the field below the text box says "MOTOR". The text below the craft includes "VEHICLE TYPE" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted), "SIENAR-JAEMUS TI[illegible]" (same) and " 55,000".
The fourth readout shows a TIE/sa bomber. The text above the craft says "SIENAR-JAEMUS TIE/SA", "REINFORCED HULL". The text below the craft includes "VEHICLE TYPE (seen from behind and mirror-inverted), "SIENAR-JAEMUS TIE/SA" (same), "MEGA DEAL", " 75,000", "INCOM FRIETEK}} [sic] T-.", "PRICE", "AEOO" (it also contains some additional text that is gibberish or illegible).
The fifth readout shows an X-wing. The top text field says "COCKPIT", 55,000 2", "RESISTANCE". The rest of the text includes "PRICE", "MEGA DEAL", 55,000", "X-WING FIGHTER", "OOAE" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted), "X-WING IS THE BEST [illegible]" (same), "MOTIONS", "[illegible] WINDOW" and "VEHICLE TYPE" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted). Then suddenly a text field saying "SIENAR-JAEMUS TIE/SA", " 55,000" appears over the X-wing.
The sixth and final readout shows an X-wing and a TIE fighter both. It includes the text " 20,000" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted), " 55,000" and "[illegible] FIGHTER" (seen from behind and mirror-inverted).
Millennium Falcon wall
When Rey's escape pod is jettisoned from the Millennium Falcon, a wall next to the pod says "SD AT".
Libertine monitor
When the Libertine approaches the Supremacy, lots of text flashes in rapid speed on the little monitor that DJ interacts with, but most of it is illegible and the little that can be deciphered has no actual meaning.
Rose's speeder
Rose's skim speeder display says "TGT LOCK" and "ALIGN FIN".
Unseen Aurebesh
An online article by Wired magazine[2] offers a look at several user interface displays that do not appear in the film, or can only be seen in the background:
