Use of Aurebesh
Note on translation
Return of the Jedi is the first Star Wars movie to feature Aurebesh. However, these graphics were created before each character was assigned a corresponding Roman character by West End Games and produce gibberish if those letter assignments are used.
Death Star monitors
When Darth Vader's shuttle is about to land in the movie's opening scene, Aurebesh text appears on the monitors of the Death Star control center. The text is merely consisting of lines of character repeats.[1]
Emperor's throne room
Aurebesh appears on the display monitors in the Emperor's throne room in the scene where the Emperor tells Vader to go out to the command ship and await his orders.
The Executor bridge
The clearance data pertaining to the Tydirium, seen on the traffic control console on the bridge of the Executor, is set in Aurebesh, although the characters are very unclear.
Shield generator bunker
In the first scene where the rebels break into the Death Star's shield generator bunker on Endor, Aurebesh appears on the viewscreen of the control room.
